Medical Ward 1 treats patients with lung disease, gastrointestinal disease and general medical diagnoses, with a total space for 38 patients.
The ward rounds start weekdays at approximately 9.15 am and continue until the early afternoon. On weekends the ward rounds will not be conducted for all patients. Ward rounds are, as a starting point, conducted at the room with the consideration of discretion in regards to the other patients. However, there will always be an opportunity to have the conversation in private.
In order to create the best possible patient-care, it is important that you tell us about your expectations as either a patient or a relative. We would like to talk with you about what may be particularly important or significant to you. Prepare for the ward rounds with specific questions possibly with your relatives. We aim to match your expectations to ours in order to provide you with the best possible care.
The ward consists of nurses, social- and health care assistants, nursing aides, doctors, secretaries and service assistants, all of whom work collaboratively with specialists from other fields to ensure that we provide you with the best possible care- and treatment process.
Further, we have trainees and students affiliated with the ward. We believe that the ward provide them with great opportunities to learn and moreover, that our patients will experience that trainees as well as students participate actively in many tasks at the ward.
We work hard every day to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care- and treatment process. Even during hectic days, we are determined to secure that patient safety is a top priority, and that we maintain a high level of professionalism. The ward comprises many acute admissions. As a result of that, you can experience a transfer to another room – equally you can experience a transfer to your existing room.
In the ward we aim to get our patients out of the bed as much as possible, and encourage everyone to wear their own clothing. Therefore, we further encourage you as a patient to take care of, if possible, elements such as personal hygiene, bedding as well as collecting food if you want to eat at the room.
