For patients who have had an injection of contrast medium in connection with a CT scan
This guide is intended as information to help you if you experience hypersensitivity symptoms after the examination.
Attention
Today you have been injected with an iodine contrast medium in conjuction with a CT scanning. This contrast medium (called IOMERON) is non-hazarduos. It normally passes through your blood system and out of your body via your kidneys and urine within a hour or two.
Before the injection you were asked whether you had any allegies or hypersensitivity of any kind. The staff have used this information to assess whether you can undergo the examination without problems or whether they should revise the examination plan.
In very rare cases the contrast medium may, within the next few hours after the injection, cause some kind of allergic reaktion. Usually this reaction is in the form of a rash. This rash normally disappears again rapidly. Should you continue to experience problems, we advise you to contact your own general praktitioner or duty doctor and tell him/her about your symptoms after having had an injection of iodine contrast medium.
